Warren Berger from Virginia, rode 5,997 miles in 2012, on his Linear Recumbent with a MAC 350W Motor
Example Post - Warren Lives outside of West Michigan and so he is not eligible to win the challenge.

Here is what Warren had to say on April 2, 2013 about his electric hybrid:
"Since retiring, five months ago, I have driven my car 425 miles, my regular bikes 281 miles, and my electric assist bike 1,863 miles.  Sara is much busier than me, in retirement.  In the last five months, she has driven her car 3,007 miles.  I was a passenger about 25% of the time, so another 750 miles for me.  So, for me, about 235 miles a month in cars vs 429 miles on bikes.  This comes after driving my Nissan 18,875 miles a year, for 20 years!"

Here is an article about this growing trend. Growing numbers of retiring Baby Boomers -- 10,000 a day -- don't need to commute and often don't need that second car
