CHAPTER 8 - Vintage Motorcycle Days 2010
2010 AMA VINTAGE DAYS at MID OHIO RACE COURSE July 9-11, 2010
Comments about the weekend event by Kraig Schultz, founder of Schultz Engineering, LLC (www.schultzengineering.us)

I brought my latest electric vehicle project to Vintage Motorcycle Days again this year to visit with Craig Vetter, hang out with the electric motorcycle guys and do some shopping at the giant swap meet.

Enertrac was there again this year with a strong presence. They showcased four different bikes built with their hub motors. A street bike, a dirt bike, a tilting trike and a vintage cafe racer style bike. Enertrac was giving test rides of its street bike and a dirt bike with their high speed and high torque hub motor offerings. I took the dirt bike for a test ride and was very impressed. I'm sold on using their hub motor in my Delta-11 bike as it seems to be a much better motor than the one offered by Kelly.

Here is a picture of John Head with his electric tilting trike project. It has TWO Enertrac hub motors and therefore will be very responsive when completed!




Here is James Hammarhead standing with his Volta Electric Cafe Racer (http://www.hammarhead.com). Volta is built using an Enertrac hub motor. Hammarhead Industries builds vintage looking bikes from all new components.

Hammarhead bike are super cool!



Zero Motorcycles (http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/)
was there again with a full offering of bikes and test rides in the test ride paddock. Looks like they are making it big time because of their great product made in the USA! Way to go ZERO!



I picked up several bargains at the swap meet. This whole pile of stuff cost me $85!
